Frances has spent the last ten years working in London, designing interiors and furniture with a focus on calm proportion, tactility and longevity. Six years ago, she launched her interior studio, Akha, a practice spanning residential design and collectible furniture - including pieces placed and sold through galleries.
Over time, Frances felt drawn to create something more personal: a collection shaped by instinct. Furniture that reflects her own design eye, and the details she returns to again and again. Frances Jean evolved from that desire. It carries the editorial clarity of her collectible work, reimagined as refined, made-to-order pieces for everyday living - quietly sculptural in presence, and genuinely comfortable in use.
Working closely between design studio and workshop, Frances Jean owns the process from sketch to stitch. Each piece is handcrafted locally in London, using solid frames, natural and recycled fabrics where possible, with finishes chosen to age beautifully over time. The intention is simple: furniture made to be lived with, cared for, and kept - where every detail exists to serve lasting comfort and enduring design.
