In selecting pine, which is a softer wood, and hand turning I have used techniques to raise the grain to bring out the natural pattern. These lamps are hand turned in Norfolk. By the nature of its construction for the wide base, a beautiful pattern emerges, the joining of the woods creates a pattern similar in sections of a plant bulb, all gently highlighted by the gesso wash, a light coating of beeswax gives a slight sheen.

Paired with the Canvas Shade, where raw edge canvas is washed and left in its crinkle shapes, catching light and shadow. Or, without the shade, so you can use your own.

The lamps have been used in The Firmdale Hotels, and many interior projects.
