Base options are 23kt water gilded or the cheaper option which is dutch metal - beaten brass which is oil gilded.

CALYX MEDIUM stem painted in French Grey with red Bole base.

Hand turned in farmed poplar in Norfolk.

Handpainted, sanded back and a coat of natural beeswax as a natural protective shield and adds a slight sheen.

Base can be painted, or gilded.

Water gilding;

Gesso is made up to a traditional recipe, 3-4 layers applied, dried and then sanded back. A layer of the appropiate colour bole is applied, this is then dried , and polished to receive the gold or silver leaf.

Lampshade is a whirl of parchment bonded to PVC, makes this a sturdy material.

Lead time is 6-10 weeks
